Why My minimal?

I am aware that any goods produced and distributed has an environment impact. If you make the life cycle assessment of my products you will obviously find several areas where the carbon footprint can be highlighted. This will happen with any activity you could possibly think of and many we completely disregard during our daily basis. Knowing this, I have worked extensively in the areas that I consider the main sources of negative impact to reduce them, from the packaging to the colour dyes choices.

Then why wax melts and soy candles?

The answer is simple, I very much love making them and if somebody can benefit from it then...why not? I must admit I really enjoy discovering and testing new scents and it's all thanks to this. My house had never smelt so good!

Now, the most important part, I also believe that by designing a low impact product I'm providing an alternative for those who love to use wax melts and candles. This came about when I wanted to buy my own candles and melts, and found to my surprise that there were little options available that completely endorsed my believes/needs, and many hand-made ones that despite looking crazy beautiful didn't provide the full ingredients information nor how they were processed or shipped.

This is how My minimal started.

My main goals are:

• To reduce the amount of waste that would be disposed in the landfill (normally melts and candles are distributed wrapped in plastic).

• To ensure that the packaging would be useful to fulfil a new purpose, this is by providing several routes for reuse.

• To offer a beautiful design and help promote hand-made production.

• To provide plant-based alternatives, reducing the use of non-renewable resources like mica, which is often found in make-up, wax melts, and candles, but that has an ethically dubious origin.

• To be inclusive, every item has been designed to be vegan and gender- fluid. It is about time we provide more alternatives that have cruelty free ingredients and don't target a specific gender.

• and finally, to hopefully make a positive impact in other people’s lives, either because these articles bring you or your love ones a personal benefit with their use, either by the knowledge that you are supporting what was stated above or either by contributing to several environmental causes thanks to the purchase of My minimal items.

All these aspects will have their own space in the following posts in the hope that they would be useful.
